Oksana Tanasiv is a self-taught artist and mural painter who
was born in Ukraine, formal Soviet Union. Since her early childhood she felt a
big passion to art. Inspired by dad’s and granddad’s creativity, she was trying
to copy all images of real life and paint them on paper. She improved her art
skills through the years of practice and hard work. Besides her educational goals (Oksana
got Bachelors of Psychology and Business at two different Ukrainian educational
institutes), she was always faithful to the art. Even after moving to the U.S.A.
in 2004 when she was faced with financial problems, Oksana continued to
express her creativity on canvas. She learned English, finished ESL school, and
got another Bachelor degree at the University of Connecticut.
"I like challenges in life.
They help to improve a personality and reach the highest goals. Life without
difficulties is too bored. But it has to be
a balance of positive and negative things. Art brings this balance into
my life. It gives me a pleasure, relax, and comfort. I hope that my customers
feel the same through my images…”
The art of Oksana Tanasiv differentiates from the art of other artists
by using Swarovski™ crystals over oil painting and, at the same way, keeps
traditions of realistic school of art.
Today, Oksana Tanasiv is well recognized contemporary
realistic artist with artwork sold throughout the United States, Canada, and
Ukraine. Her mural works are in many private and business residences of
Connecticut. In 2009 Oksana Tanasiv became a finalist of International Art Competition provided by
Direct Art magazine (New York).
