Money Boat

In this evocative piece, I’ve entwined the grace of realism with the whimsy of surrealism, depicting a couple in a dance on a billowing currency boat. Rich in symbolism, it’s a commentary on the turbulent dance of economy and relationships, embodying the delicate balance of trust and materialism. The warm hues of sunset and cool ocean contrasts evoke passion and serenity, infusing any space with the dynamic energy of life’s intricate dance.

Hooked Up

Oil, acrylic, collage on Canvas. 30″X40″. 2023

In this stirring piece, artist evokes the profound struggle and irony of human agency versus materialistic allure. The juxtaposition of the realistic human form and the symbolically oversized hand manipulates perception, igniting discourse on power and control. With each stroke of acrylic and oil, she layered emotions, crafting a narrative that challenges viewers, while the collage elements add depth, enhancing the tactile experience. This artwork will infuse your space with a dynamic energy and invite meaningful reflection on the strings that guide our choices.

In my artwork, I blend realism with a surrealist twist, using vibrant acrylics and precise pencil strokes. I convay female behavior and the weight of societal values, questioning the interface between worth and objectification. This piece is a bold statement in any space, exuding an energy that provokes thought and stirs conversation. (Oksana Tanasiv)

I Take It All…

Oil, Dollar bills on Canvas. 36″X36″. 2011.

It really doesn’t matter who you are on the Earth: president or arabic sheikh, millionaire or prince of Wales. It really doesn’t matter how much money you will make in your life. After your death you won’t be able to take any penny with you.

I Don’t Care…

I Don’t Care. Oil, acrylic, Dollar Bills on Canvas. 48″X36″. 2011.

I Don’t Care was painted in 2011 and was a clear prediction of revolution, protests of Ukrainians against of Yanukovich dictator on Maidan. Oksana Tanasiv painted Yanukovich, president of Ukraine, without face as a sign of shameless corruption, violance and repressions; without a chair – as a sign of a fake election and falsifications; cracked ground – as a sign of economical crisis; black people as a sign of ignored protesters.
