Andrey Usyk
Oksana T.From the artist Andrey Usyk:My name is Andriy Usyk, I am an Ukrainian artist. I was born and grew up in Kyiv, received my art education in Kyiv Art School but I moved to USA 6 years ago and currently live and paint in Brooklyn, NY.
My love to painting and colors began at a very young age, but I consciously left Art for the future career in the finance industry. However, having achieved a high position and having gained ten years’ experience in the auditing and compliance, I returned to the roots, to my mission in life. This is love that has continued into adulthood and to this day is the meaning of my life.
I am inspired by the beauty of nature, its changes caused by the blowing of the wind or the sun’s rays, fascinated by the lace of the lines of trees stripped of their leaves and odour of fresh meadow flowers, reflection on the water and the freshness of snow and, of course, boundless sky. I usually start with a quick sketch that I do on the spot, and then when I work on large works in the studio, I also use photographs to fill in some details.
I never tell you what you need to feel near my paintings, if you want to stop, stop and listen to yourself, they’re talking about it. The emotions of people, their smiles make me feel great about what I do. Being an artist is a powerful tool for expressing my thoughts and emotions. Painting is something that no one can take away from me, it develops me, distracts from everyday problems, completely absorbing my mind and body, makes it possible to concentrate on the present moment, slowing down time. By painting, I realize that I am the right man in the right place, because I’m here to be an Artist.
Most of my paintings are in private collections in USA, France, Ukraine and Poland.
